James Cowie BDS

James is a highly experienced dental practitioner. He originates from the Stockport area and spent the first 15 years of his career working in London after gaining degrees from the prestigious Guy's Hospital Dental School and the Royal College of Surgeons.

Having gained experience working at both NHS and private practices in the Capital, James has subsequently returned to the Stockport area where he has worked locally since 2006. He is committed to providing a comprehensive service and regularly attends post graduate training to ensure he remains fully up to date with the latest treatments and techniques.

An extensive professional knowledge and warm approach, together with skills gained from a diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy, enable him to put nervous patients at ease and make their experience more positive. Working in partnership with the team of specialists at DentaCentre, it is his aim to ensure that all patients receive the highest quality care tailored to their individual needs.

James is also fully qualified to administer Botox wrinkle relaxation courses which we are pleased to offer at DentaCentre at very competive rates. Muntazir Ali BDS

Muntazir graduated as a dentist in 1989 from the University of Glasgow. His career progressed and he has spent the last 8 years in practice providing mainly dental implant related treatments.

Having taken the opportunity to join DentaCentre he brings with him his gentle caring manner and his expertise in dental implantology. Muntazir shares with the rest of the practice a keen interest in preventive dentistry and promoting long lasting solutions to age old problems of missing teeth due to disease, trauma or stabilising dentures with implants. He provides a comprehensive dental implant service at reasonable and fixed costs. In addition to being committed to excellence in all aspects of his work, he is happy to receive referrals from colleagues and patients alike.

Muntazir is committed to postgraduate learning and completed the advanced certificate course in Implantology from the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute in London in 2005.

Mahmood Mawjee, BDS

Mahmood graduated from the Turner Victoria Dental School in Manchester in 2003, with honours in Medicine, Surgery and Immunology. Upon completion of his first year at a prestigious Implant and Cosmetic practice in London, Mahmood then took the bold step of moving completely into the private sector.

Since then, Mahmood has dedicated his time to furthering his skills in advanced dentistry. He has attended many lectures around the world and completed numerous courses across the UK focusing on the fields of aesthetics and complex mouth rehabilitation.

He has developed his knowledge and skills by working alongside some of the finest clinicians within UK and Europe. Mahmood is one of the youngest dentists in the world to have obtained a fellowship within the prestigious International Congress of Oral Implantologists, based in the USA.

Mahmood also held an honorary post within the maxillofacial surgery department of Stoke Mandeville Hospital based in Aylesbury. This allowed him to gain invaluable surgical experience in all aspects of oral surgery.

Mahmood also spends time as a clinical demonstrator on am implant course based in London’s Harley Street. Mahmood brings his range of skills to the DentaCentre team, however his key knowledge and accreditation in the breakthough Invisalign invisible tooth straightening system is particularly of interest to our patients. This treatment offers a remarkable solution, however one that should only be provided by fully trained and experienced specialists. Mahmood certainly falls into this category and DentaCentre are listed on the Invisalign website, thus demonstrating their willingness to sanction the high quality of service that Mahmood provides.

Stefanos Morfis, MSc (Endodontics), Dip DS

Stefanos achieved a Diploma in Dental Studies at the Dental School of Athens University before moving to the UK in 2005 where he took up a post at a mixed Dental Surgery in Manchester. He achieved qualifications as an Endodontic specialist and is a Postgraduate student in Endodontics at Manchester Dental School, undertaking three clinical sessions per week at the Manchester Dental Hospital.

Stefanos joined DentaCentre in mid-2009 and offers a high degree of specialist advice and treatments for all endodontic procedures. He continues to study and undertake research into Endodontic procedures and his work is published in the UK and Greece.

Mehran Ezatpour, MSc (Endodontics), Dip DS

Mehran is somebody who quite simply enjoys practising dentistry. He obtained a Degree in Dental Surgery (DDS) from Gothenburg University in Sweden in December, 1998. Prior to his qualification he had been an exchange student at Manchester Turner Dental School where he undertook clinical training in the Comprehensive Patient Care Clinic, Casualty Department and at the Longsight Community Health Centre (Dental Department).

Merhran has worked at two separate Private Dental Surgeries in Stockport prior to joining DentaCentre. In June 2006 he was nominated for the People’s Award for Patient Care 2006 organised by Probe Magazine.

Mehran also has experience working as a Locum.

Gemma Clarke, Dip DH, Dip DT

Gemma is an experienced Dental Hygienist who joined the DentaCentre team in mid-2009. She began her dental career in Cumbria in 2001 where she worked and qualified as a dental nurse, gaining experience in both Private and NHS practices.

Gemma later moved to Newcastle upon Tyne where she achieved a Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. Currently working at Dentacentre and also at a practice in Salford, Gemma’s passion is to help patients to achieve their oral health goals and to operate effectively within a leading Dental Team.

As a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy, Gemma regularly attends meetings to expand her knowledge and to further her education of dental advances and latest treatments and research.
